Scheduled Push Notificatoin

One of the most powerful tools that apps have are the ability to send push notifications.

But, did you know that through the LRIS Mobile Apps backoffice, you can schedule push notifications? Instead of manually sending out push notification, you can set up automated alerts that go out each time you post something on your blog or event calendar.

Here’s how you do it:

Manage Your App With An App

The LRIS mobile app platform was developed by the company Goodbarber, a leader in the app development business. Goodbarber has developed an app that allows users to view download statistic for their apps, send push notifications and preview changes to the app before submitting an update. The app is free and can be downloaded from you account control panel at your account -> publish -> apptest. Be sure to follow the instructions if your downloading the Apple version of the app.

Get Detailed Statistics On Your App

You can get up-to-date download statistics for your app on your account control panel, but you may want a more detailed look at how your members are using your app. There’s a solution to that — and it’s free!

Flurry (a Yahoo company), provides in-depth analytics for Android and iOS apps.

Here’s how to connect your app to Flurry:

  1. Open a free account with Flurry.
  2. Select the type of application to link to Flurry. You’ll need to do this step twice; once for Android and once for Apple. You’ll be given an API key for each.
  3. Go to your account -> audience -> tools on your control panel and turn on Flurry for iOS and Android and enter the appropriate API keys.

Please note that Flurry statistics are only available through the account you set up on the Flurry site. You want be able to see them on your app control panel.

I forgot to mention a very important step when adding the trusted phone number to your Apple account. This step must be down while you are in communication with an LRIS Mobile App employee. The reason is we will receive a six-digit code by text when you add the phone number to your account. We need to know who to give the code to after we receive it.

When you’re ready to add the phone number, please contact Marc Fuller at marc@LRISmobileapp.com or Victoria Leyva at victoria@LRISmobile.com or call us at 503.282.5440. The process will only take a few minutes.

Apple now requires two-factor authentication for app ownders to sign in to their Apple Developer account. Setting up two-factor authentication is a simple process (see instructions here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204915). You must use an Apple device — phone, tablet or computer — to set up two-factor authentication.

After setting up two-factor authentication, please add 503.841.9494 to the list of trusted phone numbers. This will allow us to access your account to make necessary updates.

Please be aware that this is not an optional step if you have an Apple app. You will eventually lose the ability to update your app and send out push notifications if this is not done. If you set up your account with LRIS Mobile Apps after January 1, 2019 then you already have two-factor authentication set up. Customers with accounts set up prior to January 1, 2019 should log into https://appleid.apple.com/#!&page=signin and make sure two-factor authentication is set up and 503.504.1186 is added as a trusted phone number.

Please contact us at info@LRISmobileapp.com or 503.282.5440 if you have any questions about this.
